I believe that there is a hidden meaning in the words, the powers of the heavens shall be shaken. The Greek word for powers is the word dynamite (Strong's G1411 - dynamis).
Dynamis is a word that means the mighty power of God, signs and wonders. However, there are a few scriptures in which dynamis means enemies, powers that resist God and that hate the believer in Jesus.
Let's read these texts:
👉There are powers that try to separate the believer from the love of God
Romans 8, 38 -
For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (
👉There are invisible, spiritual powers that war against the believer in Jesus.
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

🎩Relevance of the powers in the Jewish-Roman war
Scriptures reveal that there are demonic powers that rule over the World Superpowers (world rulers):
- Ram with two horns - Empire of the Medes and Persians
- Rough goat - Greek Empire.
- Roman Empire - Little horn that became very great and destroyed the sacrifices and the sancaturary temple.
👉The war between the powers of the Roman Empire and Jewish nation
The contention plays out prophetically in Daniel 8. However, the little horn of the Roman Empire won because the Jews had transgressed against God and were judged.
The Jews had forsaken God as a nation and served the devil. Satanic forces were ruling Israel. The people only had a form of religion. They were unbelieving, rebellious, wicked, heartless and cruel They had allowed the powers to separate them from the love of God.
The powers that ruled the Jewish nation were overthrown by those of the Roman Empire. In fact, Daniel 8 revealed the infighting in the kingdom of darkness from the outset. It is a kingdom that cannot stand. The fall of the Jewish powers was revealed in the total destruction of the nation::
Daniel 8: 12
Because of transgression, an army was given over to the horn to oppose the daily sacrifices; and he cast truth down to the ground. He did all this and prospered.
🎩Understanding how the powers are relevant today
The bible reveals that the powers wrestle against the saints and try to separate us from the love of God. This wrestling is the reason there is outright aggression against the saints in some nations.
This aggression is more obvious in certain geographic regions of the world like China, Nigeria and others. There is severe wrestling against God and against his church because of the oppossition of the powers.
Do not allow the powers to separate you from the love of God. Remain faithful to the cross of Jesus.
🎩Conclusion about the Powers of the Heavens
There are evil forces of darkness in the heavenly realm. They are invisible enemy forces. They are under Jesus' authority, and have to obey him. They wrestle against the saints and try to separate us from the love of God, but they are not all powerful.
I encourage you to be:
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
